The translation app that knows who the idols are.

Every other translator turns idol names into nonsense. Echo doesn't. Custom-trained Korean translation plus a ~770-term K-pop glossary keeps official idol, group and fandom names intact — live, while your bias is still talking.

Why Echo

Names are the part fans notice first.

A generic translator hears an idol's name and guesses at a romanisation. Fans spot it instantly, and a garbled name breaks the moment. Echo protects the spellings that matter.

~770-term K-pop glossary

Official idol names, group names and fandom vocabulary are pinned to their correct spellings instead of being re-romanised on the fly.

Custom-trained Korean models

Echo ships Korean translation tuned for spoken livestream language — the fast, informal, half-finished sentences idols actually use.

Built for live, not for documents

Captions stream as people speak, in a floating overlay you can keep on top of the stream you're already watching.

Live captions, right on top of your stream

Original

오늘 방송 8시에 시작해요

Translation

Today's broadcast starts at 8.

Around Me

Turn the room into subtitles.

Point your iPhone at the conversation. Echo captions nearby speech through the microphone — concerts, cafés, meetings, family dinners.

On-device first

When your device and language pair support it, Echo uses Apple's on-device speech and translation. That audio never leaves your phone.

Azure when needed

For pairs on-device can't handle, Echo falls back to Microsoft Azure AI Speech & Translator — used only to return the translation you asked for.

History you control

Captions save locally so you can review, copy or share them. One tap deletes everything.

How it works

Three taps to a translated livestream.

01

Pick a mode

Audio for a livestream, Screen for on-screen text, Around Me for the room.

02

Choose your languages

Korean, English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, with on-device translation whenever the pair supports it.

03

Read along live

Captions stream in a floating overlay while the stream keeps playing. Save, copy or share the lines that matter.

Straight answers

No hype. Just what Echo does.

Echo is brand new

Echo has no ratings or reviews yet, so there are none on this page. Judge it on the free tier: 5 minutes a day, every feature, no account.

Your audio isn't a product

Echo doesn't use your audio, screen text or captions for advertising or cross-app tracking, and doesn't sell personal information.

A real person answers

Echo is made by Ben Shih at BS Studio. Support goes to a mailbox a human reads.

FAQ

Answers, before you ask.

Does Echo work offline?

+

Partly. When your device and language pair support Apple's on-device speech and translation models, Echo works without a connection. Otherwise it uses Microsoft Azure AI Speech & Translator and needs internet.

Which languages does Echo support?

+

Echo translates Korean, English, Simplified Chinese (简体中文) and Traditional Chinese (繁體中文). The app interface is available in English, 简体中文 and 繁體中文.

Do you record my audio?

+

Echo processes audio to produce captions. On-device processing stays on your phone; when cloud translation is required, the transcript is sent to Microsoft Azure AI Speech & Translator only to return the translation. Translation history is saved locally on your device and you can delete it in the app.

What happens when my free minutes run out?

+

Translation pauses until your daily 5 minutes reset. You can keep using the app, upgrade to Echo Plus, or buy a Day Pass for 90 minutes valid 24 hours.

How do I cancel?

+

Open Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions on your iPhone and cancel Echo Plus there. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. The Day Pass is a one-time purchase, so there is nothing to cancel.

Can I caption a Weverse or YouTube livestream?

+

Yes — Audio mode uses iOS Screen Broadcast to capture the app audio you choose, and shows captions in a floating overlay. Some apps and protected media may block, mute or restrict capture; Echo does not bypass those protections.

Which devices does Echo run on?

+

iPhone and iPad on iOS 26 or later. Screen mode, Audio mode and the picture-in-picture overlay require a physical device.
